United Networks notes over 20 million served
Just to note another milestone, networks.org surpassed over 20 million pages/articles/lookups served since January 1, 2001 over the last week or so. Still a modest count, we last noted over 10 million served a little over a year ago in May of 2006. We are glad to continue serving the community at large, as well as the organizations that appreciate and rely on the services we offer. posted by United Networks at 16:01

New .rss file format now available for existing UN-Cast News feed
In addition to the existing functionality and interactivity of the UN-Cast News feeds and site, now there will be a static version of the latest news feed as well. Since some browsers or RSS programs may not be smart enough to assist users in the dynamic or automatic recognition of RSS/XML/RDF feeds unless they have a '.rss' extention, this should maybe help some people out.
Still the same great live news headlines available on the website and that the rsstext.cgi provides, just no interactivity of choosing specific content or number of headlines. So, like the rsstext.cgi live/dynamic version, the static version of the default live breaking news feed is now available at http://networks.org/news/breakingnews.rss
More static versions of various content/subject-specific feeds are also likely to be made available. As usual, for information and updates for the UN-Cast news feeds, visit http://networks.org/?feed=news-cast posted by United Networks at 19:31

New TECH meta-sources available for UN-Cast news feeds
As we continue to expand sources for the United Networks News Cast feeds, we have recently consolidated certain groupings of sources (dubbed meta-sources). The two newest available source designations are technews: and secadvisories: when requesting a keyword or source (?src=WORD) with any of the available news feed formats (see http://networks.org/?feed=news-cast) or news search functions at networks.org. technews: will narrow headlines down to provide technology related news from several of the technology specific news sources and headlines available within the feed. secadvisories: will narrow headlines down to security advisory related sources and headlines, such as BugTraq and CERT. posted by United Networks at 14:41
